Course Description
Welcome to the Communication and Interpersonal Skills (Interdepartmental Cooperation) module!
This module is designed for students to prepare them to use communication and interpersonal skills in the context of interdepartmental cooperation. During this course, students will be able to identify the main principles, goals, and characteristics of effective communication and collaboration, as well as acquire and apply legal knowledge to understand the role and benefits of these skills. Through (real and hypothetical) cases and simulations of different types of communication strategies available in comparative law, students will train on how to ensure the participation of different subjects in interdepartmental cooperation. As you explore, you will see that communication and interpersonal skills are essential for successful collaboration between different departments and very important for team members, community members, and all participants in these processes.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of this module, students will be able to:
- Identify the key principles and elements of effective interdepartmental cooperation in correctional institutions.
- Understand the importance of interdepartmental communication for advancing collaborative work in correctional and educational settings.
- Implement communication strategies that facilitate coordination and conflict resolution between different departments.
- Develop practical skills of non-verbal communication and empathy to improve interpersonal relationships in a professional context.
- Analyse case studies to identify challenges and solutions to conflicts within teams.
- Assess the effectiveness of existing communication strategies in solving problems within interdepartmental teams.
- Create collaborative work plans, taking into account the complex needs of prison and educational environments
