Module 6: Continuous Professional Development

Course Description

This module provides a comprehensive development of the important continuing professional development and benefits that these provide for those who wish to work in the correctional environment. Through interactive activities, case studies and simulations, courses will develop skills and knowledge on how to plan their continuing professional development and set clear and precise objectives in order to develop professionally and always be in tune with the changing level of society and the correctional environment.

Learning Outcomes

At the end of this module, learners will be able to:

1. Identify the factors that determine them to participate in continuing professional training courses and to want to develop professionally. 
2. Apply in practice the skills and knowledge acquired after completing the continuing professional training module 
3. Implement methods and knowledge acquired after participating in continuing professional training courses 
4. Develop communication and relationship strategies with young people and minors in correctional environments 
5. Analyse the aspects that determined them to work in the correctional environment.
6. Evaluate case studies and formulate opinions on how they would act in certain difficult situations imposed by working with minors and young people in the correctional environment
